We will visit Mysore, one of the centers of the international yoga scene. We’ll spend 2 days exploring the yoga and health food scene, as well as the Palace area. Three hours south of Mysore are the national parks and jungle lodges. Mudumalai, Bandipur, Nagarhole parks are some of the best of India. We will visit our many farmer and naturalist friends as we survey the elephant conflict issues of the day and inquire about the effectiveness of deterrence tools we've provided over the last several years. We’ll stay at a jungle lodge and join our naturalist friends on guided tours. We’ll trek to an elephant anti-poaching camp, as well as share in the work of one of our associates who is doing a film “LOST CULTURE OF NATIVE TRIBES.” The thesis of the film project is to discover why species coexistence is a thing of the past, as these tribes have changed little since time immemorial, but conflict has profoundly increases.
When in India, folks love its antiquity and some of the best is located about a day drive north of Mysore. First is the hippie hamlet of Hampi, then onward to the ancient towns of Badami and Aihole.
While SavingGanesh.org founder Philip Price will lead tours within the National Parks, Yoga instructor Amber Brovelli will co-lead our tour to the north. Amber will lead your immersion into the spirit of Prana, as we travel into the richest of Hindu culture. When time and place allows, we will connect evermore to these sacred lands through our yoga & mindfulness practice. While facilitating sweet equanimity, Amber's intention is to bring spaciousness to our soul - allowing ever deepening connection to the landscape & history.
Our northern travels first takes us to the hippie hamlet of Hampi - once one of the worlds largest and richest cities. Other nearby UNESCO sites include Aihole, Paṭṭadakallu and Badami.
Like all our tours, your experience will provide a lifetime of extraordinary memories!
Daily cost is $140. You will be catagorized as a volunteer for half of this tour, thus a portion of your fees are tax deductible.
